My mother teaches Korean Music and Dance. Being born in America, I didn’t appreciate my Korean culture. I was embarrassed and just want to to speak English. I thought people would make fun of me for being Korean. Now that I am older, I appreciate my Korean culture more and understand that this is a part of my identity that I am proud of. Hence, I painted a Koren dancer to show the beauty in the culture.
